ABOUT PAVEMENT SPECIAL
Having been born in Rhodesia which later transitioned to Zimbabwe I have spent many years travelling in Africa before settling in South Africa where I met and married Delienn. We together with our two boys later travelled extensively in Europe. Our journeys have given us an appreciation for the diversity of people around the world and I draw on this for my writing. Our travels have given me the appreciation of life and the depth of hardship and happiness that exist everywhere which I capture in my books.
A real life riotous, funny and heartfelt romp through bad decisions, near-misses, and the kind of love story you couldn’t make up if you tried.

I needed to call Delienn. You know those Hollywood rom-com moments when the guy calls the girl, and there's a romantic music playing in the background? This wasn't one of those, it was a moment where I needed to hear her voice and tell her I had a relationship.
The phone rang in my ear.
"Hello?" came a familiar voice. Oh no June. Delienn's mom.
Lovely woman, absolutely terrifying, she had the power to convince Delienn I was bad news.

"Hi June!" Could I speak to Delienn, please?" I asked with the hopeful chirp of a man trying way to hard to sound casual.

"Oh", sorry, Paul. She's out. Johan came to visit and picked her up"
